Not at all. Anyone who is interested in helping people find relief from pain, tension, and stress can train to be a Structural Integration practitioner. Massage therapists, chiropractors, and physical therapists often take this training to deepen their knowledge so they can better help their clients. Others make big life changes from a myriad of other educational backgrounds. We are happy to discuss the benefits of Structural Integration training with you.
One of the best ways to understand the Structural Integration 10-series goals and objectives is to experience it in your own body. That is why receiving a 10-series is a prerequisite for training.
Let us know if you have trouble completing the 10-series in your area and we will work with you and your needs.
Our program is a comprehensive, 978-hour professional training that prepares students to become highly skilled Structural Integration practitioners. The full tuition of $27,000 breaks down to just $27 per instructional hour.
To put that into perspective:
SI-BMT Training Program $27
Typical massage therapy school (500–1000 hrs) $50–$120
Public 2-year college (in-state) $141
Public 4-year college (in-state) $390
Public 4-year college (out-of-state) $1,126
Private 4-year college $1,492
While massage therapy programs are generally shorter (500 hours), the training costs often fall within the $10,000–$20,000 range, and require you to quit your job to train.
At SI-BMT you train over the course of 12 months at a manageable pace so you can keep your job and keep up with your life while you are training to open your own business.
What you are investing in at SI-BMT:
Bottom Line: The SI-BMT program provides the hands-on skills, theory, and practical experience you need to become a successful practitioner, at a cost that reflects high value and long-term career opportunities.
Licensing requirements vary by state and locality. Structural Integration is considered a distinct profession from massage therapy in some areas, while in others, a massage license or similar credential may be required to practice hands-on work.
In California, where SI-BMT is based, Structural Integration is not currently regulated by a state license, and many practitioners legally work under exemptions or as somatic educators, especially if they are not advertising massage services. However, some cities or counties may require a massage permit, even for structural integration or bodywork.
We recommend that students:
Our faculty is available to help you understand how your training aligns with local licensing requirements and can advise you on pathways to practice legally and ethically in your location.
If there is an issue with needing a refund, we will work with individuals directly to find the most reasonable and fair outcome for all involved.
Ideally, you will be living in the area where we are offering training, so you don't have to incur extra travel and lodging costs. If you are traveling to study with us, there are hotels within walking distance of both locations. We will discuss options with you.
John Wayne Airport/Orange County (SNA) is 13 miles away and is the easiest airport to use to get to Laguna Beach.
